After taking over Duuce.com , the next step was clear: The marketplace needed to evolve!
What I didn’t expect was that the first thing I’d have to rebuild was the name...
I love “Duuce" Unique, playful, meaningful to some of us, part of my daily life for four years.
But as we prepared the new version of the platform, the question came up: Should we keep the name? And apparently “deuce” means something very different in the U.S. 😅
I ran a poll, and 60% voted to change it. Hard to accept, but I went with it. (And now that I play padel, hearing “deuce” all the time makes it feel less like a breakup.)
So we made the call: Duuce would rebrand!
Our mission was clear: build a premium, safe, trusted marketplace for serious investors and real newsletter creators.
A platform focused on quality, not volume. Something we would genuinely enjoy using ourselves.
Most acquisition marketplaces look the same: blue tones, finance vibes, corporate. But newsletters are creative, personal, niche. The brand had to reflect that.
The design part was the fun part thinking through emotion, identity, experience.
The hard part? Developing... I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t know if it’s my English, my brain, or the universe testing me but translating vision into dev-speak is… an adventure. (IYKYK)
But little by little, through delays, fixes, and endless iterations, the new marketplace started taking shape.
Someone once told me: “When you think a platform is 100% ready, it’s actually 50% ready.” Very Accurate!
Websites are like construction, always a little late, always a little messy… but worth it.
Now we’re in soft launch 🎉 Testing, refining, strengthening. And soon, the part I’ve been waiting for: The reveal. The new name. The new identity. The evolution of everything Duuce began. Looking forward to finally sharing it all!
